Dealing with a photography venture is a fantastic way to get yourself out of a photography rut and to bring some concentrate to your picture-taking. Putting some restrictions on what you’re going to take pictures of or what digicam gear you’ll use really does force you to become more innovative, too.

Photography venture 01: water fall art
The essence with this venture is to hold a package of liquid and let falls fall through a small hole, then catch the causing sprinkle. Moment the shutter as the sprinkle is created is everything. We obtained great results using two flashguns set to their lowest power (1/128th), an aperture of f/22 and h2o mixed with Xanthan gum to create a more sticky solution. We also used a SplashArtKit from phototrigger which assisted to control the size and regularity of the falls.
Photography venture 02: inside sprinkle shots
For this venture you’ll need a flashgun that you can flame slightly, a package with obvious sides for your h2o, a colored background and a tripod. Set up the package and background, then place the display over the package. With the digicam on a tripod and set to manual concentrate and visibility – f/8, ISO 200 and the quickest shutter speed that will work with your display – fall the item into the h2o and flame the shutter as it strikes.
Photography venture 03: smoking art
Smoke paths are a firm favorite among still-life photography lovers. But how about getting it to the next level and using the forms in a innovative Photoshop venture. Once you’ve taken a few excellent smoking art pictures, create a empty papers in Photoshop, then copy one of the smoking pictures into it. Set the mixing method to Display and use High Convert to improve it. Continue the process to merge a variety of smoking pictures into a new image.
Photography venture 04: cross-polarisation
This fun venture uses the effect that polarised mild has on some plastic materials. You’ll need two polarising filtration – preferably one of these should be a piece of polarising movie. You can pick up an A4 piece of Lee 239 polarising movie for £50 (try www.robertwhite.co.uk or www.pnta.com). The piece of movie should be placed on a lightbox or in front of the only mild. An iPad screen and most computer displays have a polarising filter built in, so if you don’t have a piece of polarising movie you can always research by creating a white-colored papers to fill the screen. Simply connect the round polariser to the digicam lens and move it to create the colors appear in obvious nasty items.
Photography venture 05: meals landscapes
Spice up your meals photography! All you need is a set of model numbers – Hornby 00 evaluate numbers are perfect, as they’re available in a variety of presents. Preiser has an excellent variety too. The most critical facet is to set up a sense of story. Here you can see that there’s a discussion between the figures, with the mountaineer on the ‘mash face’ being assisted by his co-workers on the ground.
Photography venture 06: fine-art food
Try turning your dinner ingredients into picture art using just a lightbox and a very sharp blade. Piece fruits and vegetables as very finely and equally as possible, then place them on the lightbox. With the digicam placed directly above, use Live View to concentrate personally on the details. Set an aperture of f/8 to give adequate detail of field, and switch in some visibility settlement of +1 to +3 prevents as the bright mild can deceive the camera’s gauge into underexposure.

A relatively inexpensive way of getting ‘kitchen sink’ close-ups that look excellent offered up as wall art.
